But if you’ve ever thought “I have things I want to say…I just don’t know how to turn them into songs” that’s something you can learn.
You don’t already have to know how to write lyrics, play an instrument or magically wake up with a fully formed song in your head. We can start with an idea and figure it from there.
And yes, songwriting can be frustrating, messy, therapeutic and ridiculously fun. Sometimes all in the same 20 minutes

Whether you are a brand new writer or already working on something, I will help you figure out what your song needs. That might be structure, direction, stronger lyrics, a clearer story, or simply a fresh set of expert ears. You will walk away with specific guidance you can use right away.
If you are bringing in a song, bring your lyrics and your instrument if you need it.
Starting from zero? No problem! We will break down the foundations of writing, look at a few songs you love, and make the entire process feel less mysterious.
This is NOT a co write. I’ll give you ideas, feedback and direction, but the song stays yours. The goal is to help you become a stronger writer and develop your own voice.

Given the chance I'll sing Sara Bareilles' songs until I'm kicked off the stage. But there is something different about sharing YOUR thoughts and feelings in YOUR story. And if you’ve ever wondered whether you could write your own songs…you absolutely can.
I've put together two online courses, one for Beginners and one for Intermediate writers. About an hour each (go at your own pace).
