If you want to finally understand songwriting, finish the song you have been stuck on, or get clear and honest feedback from someone who teaches (and uses these ideas) every day, this session is for you.
Whether you are a brand new writer or already working on something, I will help you figure out what your song needs. That might be structure, direction, stronger lyrics, a clearer story, or simply a fresh set of expert ears. You will walk away with specific guidance you can use right away.
If you are bringing in a song, bring your lyrics and your instrument if you need it.
If you are starting from zero, we will break down the foundations of writing, look at a few songs you love, and make the entire process finally make sense.

Did you realize that if you don't write your own songs, you are essentially singing karaoke? There is absolutely nothing wrong with singing other people's songs! I do it all the time. Given the chance I'll sing Sara Bareilles' songs until I'm kicked off the stage. But there is something to be said about sharing YOUR thoughts and feelings with your audience in song form.
I've put together two online courses, one for Beginners and and one for Intermediate writers. About an hour each (go at your own pace).
Choose the course that feels right for where you are in your songwriting journey. Go back and review as many times as you need, you have access for life. Expect some homework and activities to help you learn more about writing and the music business.
